ELEVEN DIFFERENT PROGRAMS
Each Andrews Products program has a specific application as outlined
below. All programs show graphical displays of lift, velocity,
acceleration, jerk and cam shape. In addition, there are screen summaries
of max./min. values for velocity, acceleration, jerk, radius of curvature
and pressure angle.

D4CAM:
4 exponent polynomial curve fit program for flat or roller translating
followers.
2.
D47CAM:
4 exponent polynomial plus circular arcs for roller followers (No negative
Rad curve).
3. CV4CAM:
4 exponent polynomial with a velocity limit for flat followers with
smaller dia. lifters.
4. D5CAM:
5 exponent polynomial curve fit program for translating flat or roller
followers.
5. D57CAM:
5 exponent version of D47CAM. (Eliminates negative Rc for roller
followers).
6. CV5CAM:
5 exponent version of CV4CAM. (Flat followers with maximum velocity
limit).

SWINGD4:
4 exponent polynomial curve fit program for oscillating arm follower
systems.
8. SWINGD5:
5 exponent polynomial curve fit program for oscillating arm follower
systems.
9. SMOOTH4:
Smoothing program for lift data - translating follower systems.
10. SMOOTH5:
Smoothing program for oscillating arm follower systems: Imports valve lift
and smoothes original valve lift data, if desired. Lift data is then
transformed into an oscillating arm cam design as measured by a
translating follower. Output files include all data suitable for cam
manufacture and inspection.
11. CAM4ARC:
Design program calculates complete 4 arc cam designs (both sides and
ramps). In addition to radius values for nose, flank, ramp, and base
circle, program needs values for event length, max cam lift, and follower
type (flat of roller). Flank and ramp radii can be different for open and
close sides. All cam data and arc transition points are calculated and
presented as a graphical output. (For very high lift short duration cams.)
